       Hello !

My name is Kim Chu.  I was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States after I graduated high school.  I would like to share with you why I created KC Charity, Inc .

I was born into an average family and my parents taught me the importance of serving and loving the less fortunate.  I started helping those in need when I was in 6th grade.  I would save my weekly money that I would have used for school snacks and  drinks to help poorer students who could not afford school supplies.  Often, I would support the underprivileged and disaster relief projects sponsored by my school for areas throughout Vietnam and I still do today.

I was personally affected when my friends and I tried to raise money for poor country side  children and babies in need of medical treatment and care in the pediatric hospital.  A young, 11 months old baby boy, Le Gia Huy, born July 2, 2016 was one of these babies.  He was waiting for heart surgery as he suffered from heart disease.

Sadly, after being in the hospital for only 1 month, young Huy died.  He was only 12 months old. I was shocked and devastated when my friends back home in Vietnam shared this news with me. As a mom, I mourned the loss of this young baby boy’s life.  His sweet face is forever imbedded in my heart and mind. His death stirred such deep feelings of compassion within me not only because he had suffered from heart disease, but also because he was abandoned by his mother and father.  As a young mom, I couldn’t imagine a baby’s life without knowing the love of his mother or father.  That was when I decided I need to do something.

The case of baby Huy is just one of many stories of the children in need in Vietnam. The less fortunate people in Vietnam, like baby Huy, are neglected when it comes to health care because they cannot afford it. His story, like many others, is what motivates me to create this non-profit charity.  Even though I know this journey will be long and hard, I will not give up.  I truly believe it does not matter where you live in the world, love will bridge all distances.  I hope that everyone reading this will lend a helping hand to KC Charity. Together, we can bring back smiles to the young lives in need as well as those less fortunate in Vietnam.

We appreciate your love and donations and look forward to your support of KC Charity on this journey.  I know we can make a difference together.

KC Charity, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) created in Northern Virginia, as a result of efforts by a small group of volunteers to help raise money to support the children in need in VietNam.

Donations to our charity are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS’s rules. Our operation is efficient and we are happy to report that 100% of your donated funds directly benefit the children who are most in need.
